It looks like EA Sports is settling into a tradition that started with last year's Super Bowl, and is happening again this time around.
During the halftime show of last year's big game, EA Sports blogged about a fundamental feature for Madden NFL 10, the procedural awareness. It was a big part of the game (although, frankly, not as big as online franchise, but, hey, it had to save something for E3). Well, it looks like it's lining up something cool once again, in time for this year's Super Bowl halftime show.
According to Madden lead designer Jim Cummings, approval has been given to discuss one of Madden NFL 11's upcoming features. What it is yet, we're not sure. But here's the official word, straight from Jim's Twitter page...
"The marketing dudes told me today they want me to do a Super Bowl halftime blog for Madden 11. I guess that makes it official!"
Now, we don't have an exact link for you yet, but we'll provide details very soon. And we'll even report on it halfway through the Super Bowl, if we can put down the beer and popcorn long enough. (It is a huge game, after all.)
Oh, and we're calling it. Saints win it in overtime over the Colts, 31-28. That's gotta be more accurate than our previous predictions.
