EA Sports Begins Working On Sports Peripherals For Wii

Not content with just making some of the best sports games around, EA Sports is now working on making some of the best sports peripherals around.  The company announced today that it is creating realistic sports devices specifically for the Nintendo Wii, starting with realistic golf clubs to be used with the Tiger Woods games.  These devices will resemble real sports goods, so the club will measure out to 36 inches, the tennis racket will look like a tennis racket, and so on.

EA hasn't mentioned pricing or release dates on these peripherals yet, but we're guessing they'll hit around summertime.  Hopefully we'll get a good look at them next month when the company invades GDC.  We'll see.

Meanwhile, say goodbye to those cheap Wal-Mart knockoffs.  So long, crappy four-inch golf club!
